First Look of Lalbaug Parel

In a first of its kind event in the Marathi cinema, DAR Motion Pictures, the filmed entertainment division of DAR Media Private Limited, in association with acclaimed actor – director Mahesh Manjrekar, symbolically unveiled the first look of their maiden Marathi production ‘Lalbaug Parel’ in the heart of Mumbai.
This film has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Marathi with two separate negatives, and is slated to release on a 9th April 2010. The Hindi version of the film is titled ‘City of Gold – Mumbai 1982: Ek Ankahi Kahani’.

Overall a nice movie.seriously but this one from Mahesh Manjrekar i just saw it at Adlabs last night coz my frnds are marathi so they insisted that i come along to see it....trust me it was amazing experience...i mean this Marathi Movie is 10000 times better thatn any Motherfucking Rajnikant movie maniacs....SO even if Bollywood Hindi movies do not get Oscar...Marathi Movie will certainly get an Oscar very Soon....

Jai Maharashtra...

The movie does not show real story of strike affected mill workers, thousands of families suffered due to arrogant decisions of leaders and mill owners. Both were insisting in power game. There is a play called AAMACHYA HYA GHARAT, which shows reality at macro level. Mill owners earned in hundred of crores, workers got nothing. In fact in any mill, role of worker is major, which is not shown in this movie. Mahesh Manjrekar should create sequel of this movie
